A grievance is a formal workplace concern, tied to the person who raised it and a type you define. Open both lists under Lifecycle & Compliance: Grievance Type, then Employee Grievance.
Add a grievance type
The list title is Grievance Types. The column is Type. Search with Search grievance types....
- Choose New Grievance Type.
- Enter Type. That name is required.
- Add a Description.
- Choose Create Grievance Type.
The confirmation is Grievance Type created. Open it later and Save to change the description.
Log a grievance
The list title is Employee Grievances. Columns are Subject, Employee, and Status. Search reads Search.... An empty list is titled No employee grievances yet and reads Log and resolve workplace concerns formally. Choose New Employee Grievance.
- Choose New Employee Grievance.
- Enter Subject. That field is required.
- Choose Raised By. That person is required.
- Choose Grievance Type. That field is required. Create the type first if it is not listed.
- Set Date. That date is required.
- Set Status to Open, Investigated, Resolved, Invalid, or Cancelled. A new grievance starts as Open.
- Enter Description. That field is required.
- When you know more, fill Cause of Grievance and Resolution.
- Choose Create Employee Grievance.
The confirmation is Employee Grievance created.
Resolve it
Open the grievance, set Status to Resolved (or Invalid or Cancelled), and write Resolution. Save confirms with Changes saved.
Submit files the record and says Submitted. Submit failed leaves it unsubmitted. After it is submitted, Cancel says Cancelled.
A missing required field names itself, for example Subject is required, and the grievance is not created. Save with nothing new says No changes to save. A failed save says Save failed. Your edits are still here.
