Clock in at a work site
Refuse clock-in outside a work site is off unless you turn it on. Location is optional and is saved only when the browser shares it for that punch. Clocking in does not create pay. Publishing a schedule does not create pay.
- Open Settings, then Scheduling.
- Under Schedule rules, leave Refuse clock-in outside a work site off unless clock-in outside the assigned work site should be refused.
- Choose Save rules.
- Leave Clock station open at the desk. The person scans the current code, confirms from the message, and only then is the punch recorded. The clip does not send that confirmation.
When the switch is on, clock-in outside the assigned work site is refused. Clock-out is still recorded and flagged, so nobody is left on an open shift. An IP address is not a location.
What you should see
The helper under the switch says it is off by default. After Save rules, the confirmation says Scheduling settings saved.
On Clock station, the code refreshes on its own. A photo of an old code will not work. Scanning does not clock anyone in until they confirm.
If something looks wrong
The scan page says to allow location so it can confirm they are at a work site. That appears when the switch is on and the browser did not share a location. Allow location and scan the code that is on the desk now.
If you want location recorded only when the phone shares it, and you do not want clock-in refused, leave Refuse clock-in outside a work site off and choose Save rules.
