Department head

The department head is an employee. Open Department under Employee Lifecycle. The list is titled Departments. Add the employee before you choose them as head.

1. Click the department name, or use Edit on that row. The dialog says “Edit this department here.”
2. Under Details, choose Department Head.
3. Click Save.

To set a head while you create the department, click New Department, choose Department Head, and click Create Department. Name is required. Code and Description are optional.

What you should see

A new department shows “Department created.” A later save shows “Changes saved.” The Head column shows the employee you chose. Head stays blank until you set Department Head.

If something looks wrong

Department Head has no people until employees exist. Create the employee, then edit the department and choose Department Head.

Cancel closes the dialog and leaves the list as it was.

The dialog says “This department could not be loaded” when the row will not open. Close the dialog and click the department again.
