A job opening is the HR record for a role you are hiring for. The list shows the title, department, vacancies, and status.
Open the list
- In HR, under Recruitment, choose Job Opening.
- You should see the title Job Openings, a search box that says Search openings..., and New Job Opening.
- Columns are Title, Department, Vacancies, and Status.
If you have none yet, you should see “No job openings yet” and “Publish roles and start collecting applications.” Choose New Job Opening on that empty state.
Add an opening
- Choose New Job Opening.
- You should see New Job Opening, with Job Title, Department, Designation, Employment Type, Status, Vacancies, Closes On, Salary Min, Salary Max, and Description.
- Employment Type is Full Time, Part Time, Contract, or Intern. Status is Open, On Hold, Closed, or Filled. A new opening starts as Open, with Vacancies set to 1.
- Enter a Job Title, then choose Create Job Opening.
- You should see “Job Opening created,” and the page stays on that opening. The button changes to Save.
On a new opening the page says: “Save first to assign people, add tags, share, and comment. Attachments you stage now upload when you create this record.”
Update or remove one
- Open the row, or choose Edit on the row.
- Change the fields and choose Save. You should see “Changes saved.”
- To remove it from the list, choose Delete on the row. The dialog title is Delete Job Opening, and the message is “Are you sure you want to delete this job opening? This action cannot be undone.” Confirm Delete.
A search that matches nothing shows the same empty list. Clear the search box to see the rows again. The refresh control reloads the list.
If something looks wrong
- “Job Title is required” means the title was empty. The opening is not created.
- “No changes to save” means you chose Save without editing.
- “Save failed. Your edits are still here.” The opening is not updated. Fix the fields and choose Save again.
- “Record created, but some attachments failed to upload.” The opening exists. Open it and add the files again.
- “Job Opening not found” with Back to list means that opening is not on this company, or you cannot open it.
- “Could not delete job opening” means the row is still there.
- “This page isn't in HR.” Return to Recruitment and choose Job Opening.
