ClearFit Makes a Major Upgrade to the Candidate Application Experience

ClearFit Makes a Major Upgrade to the Candidate Application Experience

Most of you are aware that part of the ClearFit application process is to complete the ClearFit survey. This allows ClearFit to present our employers with the best applicants at the top of their list. This week we unveiled a major upgrade to the candidate experience. Not only is it now mobile enabled, it’s easier to use.

Here are a couple of screenshots showing the awesome new interface for mobile and desktop users. Since rolling it out, we’ve noticed a big increase in the number of candidates completing their applications.

Mobile Survey

Candidates can now apply from mobile. Technically they *could* have done this before but, eek, it would have been painful. Now, it’s built for mobile and works like a charm.

The mobile survey also has a swanky new interface that quickly presents the questions to the candidates, encouraging them to complete the survey without hesitation. Based on our beta program and survey, people think it’s pretty easy to use.

Survey Questions

What does that mean for you? More candidates. Full stop.

We’re also hard at work building new relationships with additional job boards to bring you better candidates. You’ll hear more about that soon!

Cheers,

Kim

Resumes Now More Readable

Resumes, Now More Readable!

Resumes Now More Readable

Here at ClearFit, we’re all about the fit for the job (so much that we put it in our name :)…but we know that a key part of evaluating an applicant is reviewing their resume. Which brings me to our latest product improvement, which we’re really excited to announce.

This feature falls into the “Wow, we really need to fix that” category. Let me tell you about it…

As you’ve probably seen, when someone applies to a job using ClearFit, sometimes their resume comes in looking, well, bad.

It’s in plain text format, no bolding, sometimes no spaces…pretty hard to read.

I am thrilled to announce that hard-to-read resumes are now a thing of the past!

Resumes will now be shown to you in their original format (Woot!)

There are two ways you can see a resume through our system today:

  1. Through an applicant’s full profile
  2. By downloading the hiring guide

Full Profile

When you click on the full profile button from the baseball card, you’re taken to the applicant’s ClearFit Profile.

Full Profile

From there, you can see their ClearFit Fingerprint. Now, under the resume tab, you’ll see a view of their resume in its original format.

Resume in App

If you would like to download their resume, just hit the “Download Full Report” button, and the hiring guide will include their fingerprint, resume (in all its original glory), and interview questions.

And here’s what a profile would look like….

Resume in PDF Profile

A couple of fine print items:

  1. If you’re using IE9, this may look a bit different on the full profile view, because we’ll be using Adobe instead.
  2. Applicants have two options to submit their resume when applying for a job. They can upload their resume, or copy and paste. If they copy and paste, that resume may still seem unreadable. But if they upload it, you’ll see the resume in the right format.
  3. Please note: You may see a slower download on “older” full reports, as we’re not pre-generating them. New Jobs, and new applicants will be lickety-split though 🙂
  4. All new candidates who apply to your open job from today forward will have their resumes in their original format. We’re currently updating all the other candidates in your open jobs to show their original format as well, so you’ll see them appear over the next few days.

We hope that this new resume feature will help make your hiring with ClearFit more effective, and more pleasant on the eyes!

As always, we want to hear your feedback, please enter your ideas here at http://ideas.clearfit.com

Comments Now with Editing

Use Comments to Save Time When You’re Hiring!

Comments Now with Editing

We all know it’s pretty hard to keep track of the process when you’re hiring…. you have a pile of applicants, and you keep looking at the same resume over and over again.

Fortunately, ClearFit allows you to comment on the applicants you’ve received. And don’t worry, only your team sees the comments—they are not shown to the applicant.

How Comments Can Help

Adding comments to applicants can help you in a couple key ways:

  1. Improve your hiring efficiency: Using comments to keep notes and reminders about specific applicants, and where they are in the process, will save you time when reviewing your applicants.
  2. Increase communication between hiring managers: If you have multiple people involved in hiring for a particular role, using comments can help facilitate communication. (Learn how to add users here.)

How to Comment

You can add comments to a particular applicant from a few different places inside ClearFit:

  1. From the baseball card, which is the small preview of an applicant, you can easily hit the “add comment” button to add comments. Your name, and the time you commented, will be added to the comment.

  2. From an applicant’s full profile you can add comments as you review their resume and ClearFit Profile.

How to Edit a Comment

Editing a comment is easy. All you have to do is click on the pen symbol next to the past comment, and it will allow you to edit your past comment.

Be aware, you can only change comments you have made (unless you are an administrator of your account). If you want a comment that somebody else made changed, they’ll have to edit it themselves.

We hope comments will help you keep track of your applicants more efficiently.

Until next time, happy hiring!
