A staffing plan is the headcount and estimated cost for a department over a date range. Open **Staffing Plan** under **Lifecycle & Compliance**. The list title is **Staffing Plans**. The column is **Name**. Search reads **Search...**. An empty list is titled **No staffing plans yet** and reads **Forecast headcount needs by department and role**. Choose **New Staffing Plan**.

## Create a plan

1. Choose **New Staffing Plan**.
2. Enter **Company**. That field is required.
3. Choose **Department**.
4. Set **From Date** and **To Date**. Both dates are required.
5. **Total Estimated Budget** is calculated for you. You do not type it.
6. Under **Staffing Details**, choose **Add Row** for each role. **Designation** is required on the row. Enter **Number Of Positions**, **Estimated Cost Per Position**, **Current Count**, **Current Openings**, **Vacancies**, and **Total Estimated Cost** for that role.
7. Choose **Create Staffing Plan**.

The confirmation is **Staffing Plan created**. A new plan shows **Save first to assign people, attach files, add tags, share, and comment.**

## Revise the plan

Open the plan, change dates or staffing rows, and **Save**. The confirmation is **Changes saved**.

**Submit** files the plan and says **Submitted**. **Submit failed** leaves it unsubmitted. After it is submitted, **Cancel** says **Cancelled**.

If **Company**, **From Date**, or **To Date** is missing, the message names those fields and the plan is not created. A row without **Designation** is not a complete staffing line. **Save** with nothing new says **No changes to save**. A failed save says **Save failed. Your edits are still here.**
