# Mark a slip paid

Mark Paid records that the salary slip has been paid. It does not transfer money. Attendance and clocking do not mark a slip paid.

1. Open **Salary Slip** under Payroll and open the slip.
2. Review Net Pay while the status is Draft or Submitted.
3. Click **Mark Paid**.

**Mark Paid** is available on a draft if you are skipping submit, and on a submitted slip after you click **Submit**.

## What you should see

A note says “Marked paid.” Status becomes Paid. **Mark Paid** and **Submit** are gone. **Cancel** remains. You can cancel a paid slip. You cannot cancel a slip that is already cancelled.

## If something looks wrong

“Only submitted salary slips can be marked paid.” A cancelled slip cannot be marked paid. Draft and submitted slips can.

“Salary slip is already cancelled.” There is no **Mark Paid** on a cancelled slip. Generate a new slip for that period if you still need one.

“Action failed” means the status did not change. Refresh the page and click **Mark Paid** again if the status is still Draft or Submitted.
