This page is for the person signing. You do not create an account. Open the **Sign document** link in the email. The subject is **Please sign** and the document title.

The same page opens from an onboarding document that says **Sign document**. HR does not sign on this page for you unless they are the person named on the request.

## Start

1. Open the link. You should see the document title and **Document signature request** with your name.
2. The card lists **Signer**, your email, **Fields to complete**, and **Expires** when the request has an end date.
3. The steps on the card are: open the document and review it, tap each highlighted field, then submit.
4. Choose **Start signing**. The line under it says you do not need to create an account to sign.

If you already started, the page returns you to the document with the fields you finished still filled in.

## Complete the fields

The document shows highlighted boxes. The side list is **To complete**, with a count of required fields done. Optional fields are marked **Optional**.

1. Tap a highlighted field, or tap its name in **To complete**.
2. For a signature, the tabs are **Type** and **Draw**. **Type** asks for **Full legal name**. **Draw** is a box; use **Clear** to start over. Choose **Apply**.
3. A date asks you to confirm **Date**. Initials, text, and number fields ask for **Initials**, **Text**, or **Number**. Choose **Apply**. **Cancel** closes the box without saving it.
4. The next required field opens on its own. A finished row shows a check mark.
5. If the template requires consent, check **I agree to sign this document electronically.** The note on the page says your electronic signature is binding.
6. Choose **Submit**. The button shows **Submitting…** while it runs.

You should see **Document signed**, then **Thank you** with your name and the document title, and the time you signed. You can close the page. HR sees **Signed** on the request, or **Fully Executed** when every person on an envelope has signed.

## Decline

1. Choose **Decline** on the intro card, or again beside **Submit**.
2. The dialog title is **Decline to sign**. It says the reason is stored on the onboarding record when this signature belongs to onboarding.
3. Enter **Reason**. It needs at least a few words. Choose **Submit decline**.
4. You should see **Document declined** and your reason. HR sees **Declined** on that document.

## If it fails

- **This signing link is invalid or has expired** means HR needs to resend it. Do not create an account to work around it.
- **Waiting for a previous signer to finish** means this envelope is sequential and someone ahead of you has not signed yet. Come back after they finish.
- **This signing request is no longer active** means the request was cancelled, expired, or already finished.
- **This document was declined** means it was already declined.
- **Signing failed** or **Decline failed** means your submit did not go through. Your typed and drawn fields stay on the page. Choose **Submit** or **Submit decline** again.
- **Submit** stays off while required fields are open. The hint says how many required fields are left, or **Confirm you agree to sign electronically** when consent is still unchecked.
- A finished link that you open again shows **Document signed** or **Document declined**, not a new form.
